Working expenses rose from .£5106 to £0347, tho net result being an excess of rrevenuc over working expenses of £2288, compared with £1010 last' year. "Somo: of the chief increases in expenditure wore: —Fuel for powcr-houso, £148; wages, motormen and conductors, ,£511; car oxamuiors and cleaners, ..£101; wages, material, repairs d maintenance overhead equipment, £182; wages, material, ■ repairs, and maintenance v permanent -. way, £183. _ The car miles traversed on all lines . increased from i;i[-,.T1l to 157,4-17. The roveiiue per car mile from city traffic wns.l2.CStl., ami last year 11.8 M., an in-crease-of .70d. per-ear mile. The. working expenses per car mile'were i).G7d. n's -compared with 0.03 d. last year, an in-crsns3-"pf .s'id. per ear mile. The excess of revenue over working expenses per ear ni:!e was 3.40 d., and last venr 2.97 d., an increftßO of .52(1. per car mile.
