On recovering from a severe illness, Mr. Garland Hates, who has been town crier of Macon, Missouri, for the last quarter of a century, was handed a local paper containing the news of Ills death and an elaborate sltelch of his life. Ho was so well pleased with his obituary that he got ont of bed to call o lithe editorof the paper, and caught a chill from which he died the same day.
