The "Poverty Bay ■Herald" says:—"The time that lias elapsed since Gisbrone . had the misfortune to require the use of its steam fire onfrine can ho judgedby a peculia rhappoiiint;. A cat has taken possession of a portion of the engine where the hose is placed, and has ■ reared a nice litter of kittens there. The kittens are now sufficiently advanced to leave thei rhbme; but the mother is apparently in no hurry to take them away.
