St. John's Church.

ANNUAL MEETING, The annual meeting of parishioners of St. John's Presbyterian Church was held in the Schoolroom yesterday evening, the "Rev. Dr. 'Gibh presiding. The adoption ofjtho animal report and balance-sheet (which appeared in Tim Dominion on Thursday) was moved by Mr. W. Allan, who referred to the large increase in membership during the year, the healthy state of the finances, and the flourishing condition of every branch of the Church.The motion was seconded by Mr. A: Johnston. Speaking in support, Mr. J. Lcith pointed out that additional lay-preachers and' Sabbath school teachers were needed,' and expressed a hope that larger contributions would be made to the Home Mission Fund during tho. ensuing year. The motion was carried by 'acclamation. Messrs. John Paul and Fr(;d. R.. Ball were appointed auditors for the coming year. The Rev. J. Gibson Smith, of St.Andrew's,. then dclivvrcd an interesting, recital, his subject being, "Gcnis from a Jewel Mine." His observations were full of < humorous incident.During - the evening Mrs. Burko, Miss Mowatt, and Mr. Pope contributed songs, and at the conclusion refreshments woro dispensed.
