£4500 LOAN SANCTIONED. A poll of the ratepayers'of Eastbourne Borough was taken yesterday on a proposal to raiso by loan the sum of £4500,' to'be allocated as follows:— Borough site, i»;ss. Main road, £1000. Main footpath, £400. •. Private streets, £1200. Orua Road extension, £300. ' Fabian Street improvement, £75. Storm water oulverts at Rona Bay (Fabian Street, Nikau-Street,, arid near Ngaio'Street), £550. • , Rights-of-way, £100. , Rooreation reservo improvement, £250. Forest Reserve,-£l7O 16s. lOd. Sundries (expenses), £229 3s. 2d. The poll was carried, the following beiiig.the result:— For .'. . 57 Against ... ... 8 Informal ... 1 Total ... ... 66 Only sixty-six ratepayers voted out of a total of 483 on the roll. The security for the loan is a special rate of halfpenny in'tlie £ on all rateable property within.the borough.
