ORDER OF EVENTS
The following is the programme for to-day's celebrations
10 a.m.—Guard of honour to march from Alexandra • Barracks (Mount Cook), preceded by tho Garrison Band, to Parliamentary Buildings. 11 a.m.—Royal Proclamation, to bo read by His Bxcelleiicy the Governor at Parliamentary Buildings, followed by salutes from warships and forts. 11 a.m.—School children to assemble at their respective schools and salute the liag. 12.;i0 p.m.—llis Excellency's luncheon at Government House to the members of both' Houses of Legislature. 2 p.m.—Ceremony at Newtown Park. Arrival of Ilis Excellency the Governor, the Premier, Ministers, etc., to bn received by His Worship the 3tayor (the Hon. T. W. liislon). A Ro.val salute to bo fired by tho Battery. „ Inspection of the Battalion. Short speeches by the Governor and the Premier. Consecration of the King's colours by the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Wallis). Presentation of the colours. Firing of the Royal salute. Trooping of the colours and march past. i.30 p.m.—Reception at Government House (by invitation). T.M p.m.—Torchlight procession, to start from Government House and march through the city by an illuminated route, bands, Fire brigade, men from 11..U.5. Challenger and Missions to Seamen participating. Marshal— 11r. ."lames Moore. 5.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.—Grand patrio- . tie function. Reception at the Town Hall, musical programme.
