RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, CROMWELL.
TnuRSDAY, July 27. (Before V. Pyke, Esq., R.M., and I. Loughnan, Esq., J.P.) James Paterson, hotelkeeper, Bendigo, was charged, on the information of Sergeant Cassels, with absenting himself from his licensed premises without permission. The Bench ordered his license to be cancelled.
Henry Smith was summoned for slaughtering large cattle without giving notice to the Inspector of Slaughter-houses. The case was adjourned till next Court-day to allow time for the production of the certificate of the Inspector's appointment.
John Duff v. Alves and others. —Claim for wages. Mr Wilson for plaintiff, and Mr Brough for defendants. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £7, in addition to £24 15s paid into Court, together with costs, and witnesses' expenses. Denis Buckley v. Same. —Claim for wages. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs. The application of Ah Hung for a slaughtering license at Bannockburn was granted.
