—o — Thursday, June 29. 18% . (Before Vincent Pyke, Esq., R.M.) James Scott was charged with keeping five unregistered goats, and was fined 5s for each goat, and 6s Gd costs.—He was also charged by Sergeant Cassels with allowing goats to wander within the Municipality, for which he was fined ss, and 6s 6d costs.—He was also further charged with the same offence by Constable Comyn, and was further fined ss, and 6s Gd costs. DEBT CASES. Joha Perriam v. Benjamin Duhig.—Claim, £23 17s sd. There was no appearance of defendant. Judgment was given for amount claimed, and 25s costs. Timothy Gorman v. Same.—Claim, £SO. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed, with 25s costs of Court, and £3 3s professional costs. Distress warrants have been since issued in both cases. Kelsall and Willsou v. F. Andrew Wood and another, two acres, north bank of Kawarau River, a mile and a half west of Cromwell : granted. James Nicholas and two others, three acres, north-west end of Cromwell (adjourned from previous Court-day). Granted, subject to consent of municipal authorities, and the approval of the Road Engineer. TAIL RACKS. Andrew Wood, 150 yards, from extended claim (as above) : granted. PROTECTION. John Wrightson and five others, sixty days, quartz claim, No. 1 west, Heart of Oak : in consequence of the severity of the weather. Protection was granted. Joseph Holliday and live others, 60 days, No. 1 north, Heart of Oak : same cause. Granted. PROSPECTING QUARTZ CLAIMS. James Peace and five others (Rise and Shine Company), about 300 yards above the Gorge in Bendigo Gully, and two miles east of the Alta Company's claim. 1200 feet granted. Robert Brydon and five others, about half-way between the Royal Standard crushing machine and the Heart of Oak claim. Refused. ■«

The application of John M'Leau for 610 acres on the east side of the Lindis River was again considered, and was granted on condition that the applicant should not interfere with the construction or maintenance of tail-races or other wotks on any portion of the land comprised within the lease.
