An application was made on November 1 to the Chief Clerk of Viee-Chancellor Malins, at Chambers, on behalf of Dr Thom—the prosecutor of the directors of Overend, Gurney, and Co. on the charge of conspiracy and fraud—for the means necessary to cany on the prosecution. The Chief Clerk said there -was no doubt as to the jurisdiction of the court to deal with the funds, but the shareholders had already spent a large sum of money bn the case, and might not wish to incur further outlay.
