TOKO SHOW.
The Tokoniairiro Farmers' Club was unfortunate iu again getting unpropitious weather for its summer show, for on Tuesday rain fell fairly heavily nearly all morning, and although clearing off somewhat in the afternoon th* sky was overcast aud the ground damp, deterring many from attending. Nevertheless there was a good crowd present, the "gate" amounting to £4li. All the officials, including Mr A. Seott (secretary), worked hard to make things run smoothly. The 14th Eegiment Baud played, side-showmen and cheapjacks bawled and brayed, and the meeting of old acquaintances all helped to lightly pass off the hours. Both draught and light horses made creditable shows, and in the latter there were some exceptionally good rings. The jumping eclipsed all past performances, and Master C. Wellman, of Otokia, and late of Balclutha, was given first honours, this being a popular decision. There was not much competition in cattle, but quality made up for lack of quantity. Nearly all of the sheep classes were good, being mostly true to style and shown in good condition. Mr J. W. Blair got most points in draught horses, and Mr T. H. Eussell most points in cattle, Mr \V. Grey most points in sheep, and Mrs D. Thomson mos.t points in dairy produce. Following were the successful exhibitors from Lovells Flat and Clutha districts:—
