Record entries were roceived for the Gore show, which was held on Tuesday ami Wednesday, but heavy rains kept the attendance low. The most successful Clutha exhibitors were Messrs D. Murray (Clydovale). and W. J. Johnston (Ashley Downs). Mr 1). Murray's roll of honour is:— Shorthorn cattle—First and champion, cow, any age; first, cow in milk; first and third, heifer, three years; first and third, heifer, two years; third, heifer, one year. Border Leicester sheep— Second and third, ewe, DO months or over, in milk; first, two ewes, ,50 months or over. Romney Marsh sheep—First, ram, 110 months or over; third,.ram, 18 montlis'aud under .'SO months; second, two rams, under 18.months; first, ewe, under IS months, unclothed aud unhoused. Downs —Second, ram, .'!0 mouths or over; second, ram, under IS months; first and champion, ewe, under 18 months.
Mr W. .1. Johnston (Ashley Downs) scored: —English Leicester sheep — Second, ram, 150 months or over; second, two rams, under 18 months; first and champion, ewe, .'ill months or over; third, ewe, shorn, under IS months; second, tr.'o ewes, under 18 months. Eoinney Marsh--Second and third, ram, ISO months or over; third, ram, under 18 months; third, two rams, under IS months; second, ewe, under 18 months, unclothed and uuhoused. Downs—First, ram, ISO month or over; third, ram, under 18*-months. Successful Clutha exhibitors in dairy produce were: —Mrs W. B. Herbert (Popotunoa), first for plain powdered butter, second for non-separator fresh butter, first for powdered butter iu crocks (uon-prizetakers); Miss M. Mouat (Waiwera South), first for salt butter in crocks.
