BRUCE COUNTY ROADS.

TO THB EDITOR. Hir, —Could you let iue know through vour paper if the Bruce County Council has "downed tools" and gone out 011 strike; if so what- ran we do to get something done to our roads. If they go on as they are going we will have to get a living machine to get our provisions in. The member for Kaitangata riiling seems .to take 110 interest in his riding; it is over four months now since a culvert on the road from .Kaitangata to Wangaloa was half washed out and is a danger to the travelling public. The pipes to renew it have been 011 the ground for some time —they are either being left to get hard with the sun and wind or a target for pearifles. .it is a bonny sight to sec on a rainy day, if you are driving'along the road, water running along the middle of it, as that is where the watertables are now. The ruts are deep enough to bury a pig. I think now that the holiday season is coming 011 it is time the member was up and doing something. When the motorists tried to get the Hashorough road opened for motor traffic a Wangaloa resident wrote in your columns upholding the member for Kaitangata riding that he had some respect for women and children. If he had any he would not let the roads remain as they are. That resilient must have forgotten that he had to knock a man up in the wee hours of a Sunday morning to borrow some harness from him, for in driving home in his gig ho turned turtle in one of the nice wee ruts. There will be a meeting of the county council on the 2nd inst., and you will find the inspector's usual report, "Roads in good order," but he never looks round to see what they are like. Trusting something will bo done at once, —I am, etc., TRUE BLUE.
