(Special to (Jlutha Leader.] WKLLtNUTON, Monday, 7 p.m. . Thvre is Jittlo change in tluv strike situation this evening. The drivers returned to work to-day in large numbers, and there are also indications that numbers of wharf labourers are tired of tho strike. Supplies of building material being short, builders are not making any active move to obtain labour. The builders' labourers adopted a resolution to-day to continue out, but it is probable that as soon as work is offering sufficient to provide employment for most members the strike will be declared off so far as thev are concerned.
A proposal to form a farmers' constabulary, as in Auckland, for defence purposes has been discussed informally by country special constables in town. Already the organisation of the country has been undertaken, and it is only required that this should be continued to provide an efficient constabulary.
