The Government has published veiy j useful chronological tables of the whole of 1 the laws passed in New Zealand, consist- J ing of 123 pages of closely tabulated matter, and including the Ordinances of the Legislative Council of New Zealand from 1841 to 1853, the Ordinances of New Munster passed in 1849, the Acts of the General Assembly from 1854 to 1877, and all the Acts and Ordinances of the ten Provincial Councils, some of which had law-making powers from 1853 to 187 5 j namely, Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson, and Canterbury. Auckland and Otago held their first sessions in 1854, Hawke's Bay in 1859, Marlborough in 1860, Westland in 1874, and Southland from 1861 to 1869.
