A meeting of the Committee of the Tokomairiro Facers' Club was held on Wednesday. There was a good attendance. The Secretary was instructed to pay all outstanding accounts. A protest was read, by Geo. Lindsay, against Mr Hewitson receiving a prize at the late match, on the ground that he had received assistance from Mr Paton. Mr Lindsay withdrew the protest, as he considered it would not be fair to Mr Hewitson, seeing that a Dumber, of other competitors had also been assisted, and had, notwithstanding, received prizes. In the case of one double-furrow plough, five men had followed and given their assistance. In the case of the prize for the best matched team in Class A, it was stipulated that the horses must be the property of the ploughman; yet one- of the horses did not belong to the man who got the prize.. Seeing that such irregularities had been allowed, he; withdrew/ 1 his protest. A letter was read from Mr t Hewitson, stating that He forb.ade any one to assist him.
