' April 10, 1878. (Before E. li. Curew, Esq., R.M.) Henderson v. Beer. — Claim, £3 10s. This was an application from Riverton to have a witness examined here. Mr W. Henderson, for plaintiff, asked for au adjournment for a week^-as tho witness was not present. — Grained. Dillon v. Patterson.- Claim, £17 Is 7d. = Mr D. Reid for plaintiff, and Mr W. Taylor for defendant. This case had been adjourned from last Court dny for the production of evidence .13 to the date on which certain receipt dated 10th January last was piven. Counsel now agreed without calling evidence that it was signed on the 31st January. Mr Taylor now argn<*d thaibook debts could not be assigned under a bill of sale by way of mortgage as they coulu not be subject to anv equity of redemfcion. and referred to the Bills of Side Act. 18F>7. Mr R-id referred to the Conveyancing Ordinance, which specially authorised the transfer of choses in action, and argued that uvea supposing there could be no equity of redemption tho assignment under the bill of sale would lie good ms an absolute assignment. Judgment resrrved. Bain v. M'Kav.— Claim, £4 18s. Mr Henderson for plain tiff, and Mr Taylor for defendant. Defeudant asked an adjournment for a week to procure ev'dence, Granted on payment of 21s cost' to plaintiff. Dunne v. Jamie.— Claim, £10 10s. Mr Henderson foi - plaintiff.
