OTARIA.

At a meeting of fclie School Committee held at Stoney Cre< lc schoolhouse, Otaria, on Monday, 25th. March, thero were present : Messrs Robert Coupsrthwaifco (in the chair), Scott, Robertson, Gordon, Nelson and Purvis. Tlie minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. It was resolved to vote for the followinggentlemen as members of tha Education Board of Southland :— ?*fessrs John Orson, M'Ardell (Queenstown), Rev. Thos. Alexander (Longbush), .Roy. James Henry (Wyndham), Cuthbert Cowan (Wallacetown), Hon.. J. A. B. Menzies, M.L.A. (Wyndham), R,ev. James Paterson (Invercargill), Sir J. L. C. Richardson (Invercargill), Janies Stewart Shanks (Tutnrau), James Stuart Holmes (Castle Rock). It was proposed by Mr . David Gordon and seconded by Mr James Robertson — " That the Stoney Creek school, Waikaka, be declared a main district school, and that a teacher be advertised for ; salary to be about £120 per annum, "v/ith house and aboufc ten acres glebe. — Carried. Tho meeting then adjourned.
