SOUTH MOLYNEUX BOARD

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was, hold on" Thursday, 27th December. Present "': Messrs Henderson (Chairman), Jowitt,, Smith,. Braclficld, Paterson, Melville, Steven, and Christie. The minutes of last meeting were read and- confirmed.

A report from Mr M'Gregor,' with reference to Mr Veitch's compensation, was held -over for consideration.

Two tenders were, received, for the situation of Ranger— Wm. M'doskie at Ll6 ; Alexander Ironside at L 5. ' The latter was accepted. ■'■ _, -• y-y - , ....

_. Messrs Brugh, .Hay, Melville, and Jowitt were appointed a Committee to prepare a. plan pf allocating the. applications to depasture cattle on the reserve.

■ , Accounts to the amount of £123 2s were passed for payment. .."'- ,

It was iresolved that the Board agree to give a subsidy on any.special rate collected in the .Upper Owake /Flat, ' at . the • rate of pound ,for_ pound, _to,ihe' amount of L2O.

Tenders were opened for ..contracts 128, Ahuriri subdivision, and 129 and 130, Catlins Biver subdivision, tlie lowest ten 7 der being- accepted for each, as follows :— No. 128, Edward King, Lll ; No. 129, Benjamin Morris, Lls- Us Qd ; No. 130, James -Roger, L4B 10s. ..y : ; , ; The Inspector was instructed to lay off •works in Waitepeka' arid' Catlins River, subdivisions, and call for tenders for next meeting- ..;. ... ... - .. r The Board then ad jpurried. /
