INCH CLUTHA SCHOOL.
0, The . examination in the above school took place on Friday, 28th ult. The examination was conducted principally by Revs. J, M'Ara and J. M. Allah, and the children acquitted themselves in a highly satisfactory manner, reflecting inueh credit on their own deligence and the painstaking assiduity of the teacher, Mr M'Neur. The members 'of Committee present Were Messrs Mosley, By ers, M*Kenzie, and Lawson, and a few of the parents of the pupils were also present. We were glad to see that more interest waa shown in the matter as evidenced by the attendance than heretofore. One feature in tlie clan's proceedings w;\s the drill which the children were put through by the teacher, in which they showed creditable proficiency. At the close of the proceedings, Rev. F. Knowles addressed the children generally prior to giving the prizes, in a few r well chosen words of advice, and accompanied each prise, as he handed it over, with a suitable and appropriate remark to the recipient. . Special thanks are due to the promoters of the concert by which funds were raised for prizes, and it may be mentioned that sufficient was raised to give every child attending a sftYall book by way of a Christmas gift. After cheers had been given for the teacher, examiners, Committee, and others, the children were dismissed.
