[Per Press Agency.] — 4. .. Dunedin, November 8. At the Mayoral election to-day, Mr Leary was retui'ned by a majority of 305 i. A late train will leave Dunedin after the Opera on Friday night. i Wellington . In the House of Representatives this afternoon, Sir George Grey moved that at the rising, the House adjourn until Monday. Major Atkinson opposed. An acrimonious discussion ensued, and the action of the Opposition was characterised as indecent, and as actuated by bad taste to get back to office, as they would get no chance to carry any motion. The motion for the adjournment was lost by 38 against 32. Great floods have occurred at Westport, causing great damage to property^ roads, and bridges. A man who took refuge on the roof of his cottage was drowned.
