PIGEON SHOOTING IN DUNEDIN.

A shooting match for L2O took placo at St. Kilda on Tuesday afternoon between Mr George Edwards and Mr Fitzclarenee Roberts. The terras wero fifteen birds each ; twenty-one yards rise ; eighty yards boundary ; first barrel to count two points, second barrel one point. There was a numerous attendance of spectators. The. birds were strong* on the wing and the contest was exciting- throughout. Mr Edwards missed his first bird and also his third | and fourth, but after that settled down to his work and shot splendidly, killing nine consecutively. Mr Roberts, on the other hand, started well, and after four shots his score stood at 6 to Mr Eclwards's 2. He, however, missed bis sixth and seventh birds, and had to use the second barrel to his eighth and tenth. Mr Edwards missed his fourteenth, and some excitement was caused thereby, for if he missed the fifteenth it was possible for Mr Roberts to tie him. The last bird, however, was knocked over within a yard of the trap, and Mr Edwards was declared the winner by two points. The full scores were as follows : — ' Etlwaivls, 0200222 2 2 22 220 2 23 Roberts, 20 22 2 0 0"! 2122022 ... ••• 20 An interesting; match will be fired on the 15th inst. between Messrs Edwards, Roberts, and G.
