Licensing Court.

June 7, 1877. (Before B. H. Carew, R. M.. Chairman ; and Messrs J. G. Srahh, M.D., F. S. Billings, and R. Grigor, Commissioners ) BALCLUTHA DISTRICT. Applications, by Messrs F. S. Canning, Canning's Baiclutha Hotel ; T, Keenan, Criteno i Hotel ; T. Stanbrook, Crown Hotel ; W. Lloyd, Farmers' Arms Hotel ; and John Dunne, Newmarket Hotel, for renewal of publicans' licenses, were granted. Mr Taylor appeared for Mr Keenan, and also in support of his application for a 12 o'clock license, which was refused, Messrs Dunne, Stanbrook, and Lloyd's application for renewal of similar licenses being granted. Bottle licenses were granted to Messrs D. i Ryrie, W. Hislop, J. Macdonald, and A. Stewart, OUTLYING DISTRICTS, A bsolute transfers of licenses were granted to A. O. Gilmour, for the Jetty Hotel, Kaitangata ; W. Rae, Railway Hotel, Stirling ; and James Gray, Bridge Hotel, Kaitangata. Mr Henderson appeared for each of the applicants. Renewals were granted to the same applicants, and also to S. Vial (Mr Henderson for applicant), Catlins River Hotel ; D. Whytock, Puerua Hotel ; G. Townsend, Inch Clutha ;W. Stewart, Waiwera ; R, Richards, Stirling Hotel ; Robert Dreaver (Mr Henderson for applicant), Alexandra Hotel, Port Molyneux ; Allen and O'Kane, Commercial Hotel, Clinton ; and Donald Macdonald, Royal Mail Hotel, Clinton. Applications by Messrs Allan and O'Kane and D. Macdonald for 12 o'clock licenses were refused, the police objecting to them as being unnecessary. Bottle licenses were granted to P. P. Stoddart, Kaitangata ; R. Scobie, Cliuton ; aud George Bell, Inch Clutha.
