RESIDENT Magistrate's Court.

IBalolotha, 27th October, 1875. (Before J. P. Maitland, Esq , R.M.)

Robert Angus, alias Themson, was again brought up and charged by the Police with two separate charges of obtaining money under false pretences.

W. Taylor, Esq., prosecuted on behalf of the Crown, and D, Reid, Esq. .defended the prisoner. A considerable number of witnesses were examined, some of whom were summoned from Oamaru.

The prisoner, after being asked if he had anything to say, to which he veplied that he should reserve his defence, was committed upon both charges to take his trial at the next sitting of the District Court, Tokomairiro, on the 20th December next.

In the cases of Hogan, claim of £8 13s 9d ; Small, claim of £10 ; O'Laughton, claim of £37 ; Nailor. claim of £13 14s 2d, v. Minamin, Railway Contractors, Clinton, judgment went by de fault, with costs. There was no appearance of defendant.

a. bhoap v. p. lanob. Claim of £17 6s 5d for daily produce. Judgment for amount claimed with costs, 19s. Immediate execution was applied for and granted.

D. M'DOKALD T. TODD,

Claim of £19 18s for livery, board and lodging, Judgment was given for £16 lis and costs 19s,

ROBEBTSoS and PABTT V. B*. ROBERTS. Claim of £38 16s 3d foi* fencing. After a considerable quantity of cross-swear-ing judgment was given for £18 16s 3d.
