Meming, who inf the course of nas remarks said he hoped and believed the paper with which the was donnected would soon, so far" as local and colonial politics were concerned, possess an influence second to no country paper in New Zealand. Visiting Bro. Canni lg proposed the toast of tbe evening, " Success tb Lodce Clutha," remarking that this Lodge was the first he had ever visited outside his mother Lodge. Well he remembered the timidity which took hold of him on presenting himself for admission to a strange Lodge, being an inexperienced Mason at rhe time, paying a just tribute of praise 'during his remarks to Bro. Algie, who was then tyler, how well and faicllfullyae had performed his duties on that occasion.^ Bra Macdonald, in responding to the roast, said of all the members of tne Lodge, he was the only one present on the occasion that was not initiated, in the very room they were in, he coming a member by affiliation— his mother Lodge being Fortrose, 108, S.C. That fact impressed on him forcibly how grateful he ought to feel to the members who had for the fourth time installed liim as Master that evening, this last election foang the only one uncontested so far as he remembered since the formation of the Lodge j presuming from that fact that he was the unanimous choice of the Lodge. Seeing ihe success which attended their labors during the last year, he would endeavor to use his utmost in making Lodge Clutha take a place amongst the leading country Lodges in New Zealand under any constitution.

[ "The Retiring Officers" were then | proposed by Bro, Low. " The Newly Installed," by Bro. M'Niven, both beiu.g responded to. , ; The R.W.M. then proposed " Speedy Reliaf to Distressed Brethren," and said he had, just consulted with Bro.
