After that little difficulty had been settled, I looked out for my own creature comforts, and bespoke a glass of beer. To mv surprise 1 was informed that, as it was Sunday,, the bar could not; be opened. Now I should like to know if a licensed publican, under these circumstances, is justified in refusing reasonable refreshment. When I arrived at Otaria, no such scruples were made. Indeed, the conduct of the Otaria hotel-keeper — which, by the way, is just about 12 miles fur-' ther along — was in every respect a. ( contrast to that of his Clinton neighbor.
