THISTLES AND CAPE WEED.

About four years ago machinery packed in. hay, and straw "was .landed on the beach at the building called the "oil store," near the Nuggets, anyone going along tbe beach will 'notice some; fine specimens of the thjistde aJ)out '-four? feet high, they having spread a good - distance since having, been imported. There is no doubt biit the seed was imported by the Government, and should they not employ some one. to extirpate the nuisance while yet in its/infancy, and before the new seed is spread abroad with, the* wind ; or, should the. Government decline, let the local road board take steps in the matter, and any cost, the Board may be at, 1 surely the Provincial Government will repay the outlay. Tn travelling the main road to Port Molyneux the Cape weed is remarkably conspicuous, and if something is not done at once to get rid of the thistle, it will soon be as plentiful, and much more injurious and expensive than Cape weed.— l am, &c, Warden.
