MACRAE FLAT.

(From a Correspondent.) The weather for a considerable period has been very clement for this season of the year. The lambing season has begun on the Coal Creek and Deepdell stations, and should the present weather continue, a very high per ceutage of lambs is confidently expected. At the monthly meeting of the District C'mrt, Macrae's, on the 10th instant, some Chinamen caused a great "deal amusement, they being summoned by constable Jones for neglecting to have their water-races registered as required by the Act. After a great deal ot evidence bad been extrrcted in a very circumlocutionary manner, tbe ca^e was ultimately decided against them. Some o f her ca<es were disposed of. In one Donaldson v. Stanley, Mr. Donaldson sued defendant for damages alleged to have been caused to. a paddock of growing crop in February la*t hy defendant's pigs. Verdict for plaintiff, damages L 3 10-?, and costs of Court. A cross-action was brought against Donaldson by Stanley, in which be sought to recover damages which defendant's dog bad caused by destroying several of plaintiff' s sheep. After evidence had been produced, a verdict was recorded for tbe plaintiff. Damages, L 3 Is Gd, and costs.
