Accused 1 pleaded guilty to 'assaulting a girl aged 11, be.ing a rogue and vagabond, and resisting a constabie. The Bench treated the assault as au aggravated oue and" sentenced accused to five months on this count, 12 monthte on the second and one month on the third, the terms to be cumulative. The prosecutor said accused entered' an unlocked backdoor of the constabie 's home and entered a bedroom where two girls, aged 11 and eiglit, were sleeping. Accused awakened the elder girl, but she managed to elude hira and call her father who heard the prowler leaviug by the baek door. The constabie in pyjamas and with-' out shoes caught accused in fifty yards. A struggle eusued hefore he was overpowered and - loeked up. Accused had a list of 14 previous. convictions some of which. were for similar types of offienees.
