INDIA RECOGNISES COMMUNIST CHINA

Received Friday, 10 p.m. NEW DELHI, Dec. 30. India today became the second non-Communist country to recognise Mao Tse Tung's China. Burma was the first. Other countries that have recognised Communist China are Russia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Yugoslavia, Horea, Mongolia and Albania. A Government Spokesman said India would immediately break off -diplomatic relations with the Chinese Nationalist Government. An offieial Indian Government statement announcing recognition said the Chinese Commtinist Government had asked India io enter into diplomatic relations on, the . basis of equality and mutual respect for sovereign and territorfal rights. The statement said the Government of India had replied that it Was willing to establish diplomatic relations.
