Holiday Bowling On Central Club's Green

A combined rinks tournament was held on the Central Bowling Club's gren on Boxing Day. Strong gusts of wind made conditions very tricky', while showers somewhat spoilt the enjoyment of the day. Four games of 11 heads were played and the honours went to a rink eonsisting of Burnham, H. T. Wenham, H. E. Wenham and Rolfe (s). Wins secured by each rink were as follows, only the name of the skip being mentioned: Munro, Meads, Rolfe and A. O. Powell, three wins each; K. Bowater, Langelan, Karena, Campbel^, Irving and Edmonds, two wins each; Clark and Seddon, nil. Rolfe «merged the winher in the playoff. A Barnett pairs. tournament was conducted on Tuesday. .There was a slight improvement in the weather, but a strong wind throughout the day had an adverse affeet on play. H. Bowater was the winning skip while the most successful lead was G. R. Lester.' Details of wins are as follows:— Skips: *H. Bowater, 5 wins; S. Parker and Hartstonge, 3i wins each; K. Bowater and de Malmanche, 3 wins each; Briggs, Martin and Newton, 2-| wins each;

Poad, ' Mudgway, Seddon and Irying, 2 wins each; Braid, 14 wins; Langelan, nil. Leadsr Lester, 44 wins; Fenn, Harvey and Findlater, 4 wins each; Thomson, Common, Wilkins and Burling, 24 wins each; Renkin and Bagg, 2 wins each; Dalzell, Cane and Cole, li wins each; Bruce, nil.'
