Antarctic Expedition At Cape Town
Reeeived Thursday, 8.40 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 21. The 600-ton Norwegian sehler, Norsel, reached Cape Town today earrying members of tlie Anglo-Scandinavian scientilic expedition to Queen Maud 's Land for a study of Antarctic meteoroIpgy; glacioiogy and geology, says The Times ' special correspondent. The Norsel will land the expedition on the ice and stand by until a base camp is established for the two-y'ear Antarctic stay. The expedition will leave Cape Town after Christmas. The Norsel expects to meet the floating whale factory ship Thorshoevide in the. Antarctic between January 5 and 10, to take on board Norsel expedition members who left Oslo in the ThOrshq'evide togetlier with sledge dogs and otlier equipment. There has been illness among the dogs. Fifteen of the 60 which left Oslo, have been killed. ■ -
