Council Farewells Abattoir Inspector
.»- After over 11 years as meat inspector at the Levin abattoirs, Mr. H. J. C. Dumbell will leave soon to take up a new appointment as supervising meat inspector to the Gear Meat Company, Petone. At a meeting of the Levin Borough Councii on Monday night, Mr. Dumbell was the council's guest at supper and was presented with a cheque in appreciation of his services. ; Many references were made to the work and service Mr. Dumbell during his period at the abattoirs. It was stated that he had first been appointed to the abattoirs. in • the dual capacity of inspector and manager and had given wonderful service. ' The Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin said that the best wishes "of the councii were tempered with regret that Mr. Diynbeli was leaving its service. He was sorry to leave, replied Mr. Dumbell, and was grateful for all the assistance and co-opera-tion he had reeeived from the councii. All he had done he had done willingly and he hoped, in the best interests of the councii. . He thanked the councii for . its most generous gift.
