PcrsonaL ' .Mrs. D. McTaggart and family, of Wellington, are spending the holidays in Otaki with Mrs. H. Nicolson, Matene Street. Mr. A. Butt, of Te Horo, who lias been in Wellington Hospital for the past few days, is expected to return home within the next day or two. Members ' of the teaching staff of the Otaki School have left to spend their holidays. Miss Breeze has gone to Paekakariki, Miss Turner to Tinwald (Timaru), Miss Goodman to Wellington and Miss Everson to Lower Hutt. Mr. Foster, -who takes up a new position at Tuatere, Hawera, in the New Year, is now in New Plymouth. Racing Taxation. • Taxation paid by the Otaki Maori Racing Club as a result of -its meeting on December 10 amounted to £5509 ls 3d. Totalisator tax totalled £2884 12s, dividend.tax £2523 13s, stakes tax £39 7s and amusement tax £61 9s 3d. ,
