Mr T. H.. McCombs was appointed secretary and Messrs R. Al. Alaefarlane and P. G. Connolly were re-elect ed senior and junior whips respectivelv A motion was passed that the Par liamentary Labour Party accept .the democratic decision of the voters at the General Eleetion." It expresses its regret at the temporary setback of the Labour Party aiid the conception of social justide and welfare for all which the Labour Government has estabiish ed. Alembers 6f' the Parliamentary Party- pledge themselves to eontinue to work strenuously and unceasingly in the best interests and for the highesi vv'eifare of the people of our country and, to. light with -all the ability, energy and detsrmi nation at their command, against any and all attempts to impair. weaken or destroy the structure of so ciaJ seciirity and'other progressive bene ficial measurbs Labour has instituted. ' • iA motion vvras passed thanking Mr Eraser for ' Ma ser-vices- to New Zealand 'and its people and expressing full cou lidence ih him as leader of tlie Party and in; his ability to lead Labour untii party members again become the Gov ernment of- the country. Alotions were also carried expressing appreciation of the services of fonner Ministers, Messrs Nordmeyer and Cui len, and other members defeated at thi polls.
