WELLINGTON, Dee. 20. A big increase in air and rail freight handied during recent months, compared with last year, are reported by National Airways and the Railways Department. With four freighters- ieaving Paraparaumu each day this week, National Airways are handling a reeord Christmas cargo trafSe. Douglas aircraft carrying 3i tons of cargo deparl regularly for Christchurch, Auckland and Dunedin. An increase of 9000 tons of goods weekly in the goods handied by the railways over the last three months. is ' reported. Throughout New Zealand the 31,000 tons each week day during Sep tember, Oetober and November. During the present reeord rush, the railways are expecting to handle more than railways have been handling more tlian 189,000 Ions of goods weekly. %
