The discovery of an upturned car on the Napier Road in the early hours of "Monday morning led to the appearance in the Bulls Police Court yesterday of an 18-year-old half-caste Maori. The Central Register of Guides will issue all registered guides with certificates which will give the guide's qualifications, languages, special knowledge of a particular area or subject, and which will also contain a photograph of the guide. Each guide will also be issued with a lapel badge. In the early stages the. scheme will be restricted to London and tourist centres within a day's journey of Lpndon. The associations coxisidered the step necessary to rid .the tourist centres of the "bogus opportunists who have reaped a rich harvest in the. past."-
