£275,000 Hospital Contract. | Tenders amounting to £275,199 have "been accepted by the Waikato* Hospital Board 4for the constructiorj. of extensions to the Campbell-Johnstone maternity ward, Waikato" Hospital, and for the construction of a 150-bed nurses' home at the Waikato Hospital. Old Cornerstone Unearthed. The cornerstone of an old New Plymouth building — -the town's first Masonic Lodge — was discovered three feet below ground during excavations near the new Huatoki Bridge, in Gill Street. The stone, measuring two feet square and three feet long, once support*ed the lodge in a line of buildings running -down to the sea, and all of which have disappeared in the past 70 years.
