No Funds Yet Voted To Main Highway Cycle Track

A letter from the Ministry of Works with regard to the proposed cycle track on the State Highway, from Beach to Kimberley Road was received by the Horowhenua County Council at a meeting yesterday. It was • stated that no funds had been -voted for the project in the previous year's estimates, but when finance was available. the Main Highways Board had agreed to construct at its own cost the 100 chains of cycle track. The total cost of the construction would be approximately £10,000. Commenting on the letter, the chairman, Mr. A. M. Colquhoun, said -that the council shoul'd keep the project in mind as the track Was badly needed.
