Methodist Sunday School's Prize-Giving

The St. John's Methodist Sunday School prize-glving ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon in the Century Hall, there being a godd representation •' of parents an'd children present. Ihe singing ' of anniversary songs by the children of the main Sunday School opened the proceedings. A na tivity play was then presented by the primary children, the parts being ' taken by the following; Beverley Wyness (Mary) ; Neil Bowater (Joseph) ; Dennis Sinkinson,'. Sidney Galloway and George Kells (Three Wise Men)-; Graeme Trim, Michael Hewitt, Dennis' Williams 1 and Brian Ransom (Shepherds) ; Audrie Palmer (Angel) ; Ann. Vincent, Phyllis Levy, Brenda Laurepson, Barbara Miller, Pamela Hendra and Louise Allen (Eastern Worshippers) . Carols sung during the play were by a choir of Sunday School and Bible Cfass scholars. "Silent Night" was sung by Tony Hewitt and Marjorie Gil-b-ert read the stofy of the wise men from the Bible. The performance was impressive and well 'acted, and credit is * due to Mrs. E. W. Bott and her .helpers. Ihe prizes won by pupiis were then presented - to the children by Mrs. H. Baumber. Kathleen Gapper presented Mrs. Baumber with a- beautiful bouquet of sweet peas and carnations. The superintendents, Messrs T. Taylor and E. W. Bott then wishe'd the children happy times during the holidays. Rev. H. S. Kings closed proceedings 'with the Benediction.
