Cliff Wiseley's Departure A Loss To Sport

— : News of Mr. Cliff Wiseley's impending departure from Levin will doubtless be regretted by sportsmen throughout the district,. although all will wish him well in his new post as head teacher at the Pongaroa School. Mr. Wiseley was prominent in rugby, having taken an active in-' terest in its administration and ■being one of the distriet's best referees. The Bush sub-union will, however, benefit as Mr. Wiseley says he will carry on the good work in that district. As delegate to the Horowhenua Rugby Union's management committee1 for the past six years, he has done much towards the advancement of the sport and ably represented •" the referees. He is also a member of the special commiutee which was set up at the last meeting of the union to negotiate with Manawatu over its proposed amalgamation plan. For a number of yeans . Mr. Wiseley was the Horowhenua Cricket Associa'tion's secretary and also an official of the Levin Swimming Club for a period. Followers of this page will doubtless have read his cricket notes last ■season, which he submitted under the nom-de-plume of "Not Out." These regular contributions naturally took a large portion of his time, but were followed with a great deal of interest and did much to foster public interest in the sport.
