Off-Course Betting Scheme Will Be Examined
WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. When the scheme of ofi-course betting on the totalisator was produeeti the new Government would, examine it. stated the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) in'reply to an inquiiy last evening. Asked if it were intended to' amend this year's legislat-ion providing for oflf-course betting, Mr Holland said he had no.t that in inind. Tlit^ law was that tlie Bacing and Trofctirig Confer ences had to produce a plan of off course betting and that it would noi operate until it was approved by tlu Government. .
