Received Thursdav. 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 8. Captain Charles Yeager, an Air Foroe test pilot, said today he had fiown "100 miles hourly faster the n the speed of sound and then some." The speed of sound is 760 miles hourly at sea level. Captain Yeager 's flights have been made . in an XI roeket plane at Dayton, Ohio. Asked what was his sensation while travelling at supersonic speed, Captain Yeager replied: "Anybody can fly faster than sound as far as physical effects ar-1 coneerned. It is no different from sitting in your armchair at htme. There is noise but most of it comes from the rocket engines."
