Ohau Miniature Rifle Club Ends Season
The Ohau Miniature Rifie Club wound up a very suecessful season recently with a novelty shpot, there being visitqrs from the Levin and Poroutawhao clubs. A teams match was arranged, L. Anyan's team ^winning the shoot with 482 points. In secQnd place was B. Lacey's team with 465 points. The top scorer was R. Cole, who notched the only possible of the evening. Scores were: — R. Cole 100, L. Anyan, F. Catley, E. Findsen qnd W. La Roche 99, I. Grey, R. Fowler, H. Wehipeihana, V. Hunter and F. Graham 98, R. Haley, E. Lacey, J. MeCartney and Miss M. McCartney 97, Miss C. Hunter 96, J. Horn and W. Mudge 95, G. Barnes and S. Aanensen both 94, B. Lacey and W. Manly 91, G. McKenzie 90, B. Pescini 88, A. and W. Carle 87, F. Haley 86, A. Stevenson, N. Wehipeihana and S. Lumsden 85, Mrs. Aanensen 84 and J. Graham 79. ' At the -conclusion of the shoot, the presideni of the Horowhenua associati'on, Mr. L. Lumsden, presented the trophies as foliows: — First series. — W. McKenzie, Messrs W. M. Clark's trophy; run-ner-up: H. Wehipeihana, club -rophy.
Second series. — L. Anyan, Mr. G. S. Scott's trophy; runner-up:. J. G. Horn, club trophy. Third series. — G. McKenzie, Messrs A. W. Allen's trophy; run-ner-up: V. Hunter, club trcphy. Fourth series. — S. C. Aanensen, Messrs Parker and Vincent's trophy; runner-up: G. McKenzie, club trophy.' Fifth series. — F. Catley, Mr. J. G. Horn's trophy; runner-up: L. Anyan, Mr. E. Findsen's trophy. Club championships. — G. McKenzie, Aanensen Cup; runner-up: S. C. Aanensen, Mr. R. Catley's tropfcy- ' . i Handicap championship. — G. McKenzie, Horn Cup; runner-up: L. Anyan, club trophy. Junior handicap. — R. Haley, Benning Cup; runner-up Miss M. McCartney, club trophy. . Women's championship. — Miss C. Hunter, Mr. V.'Hunter's trophy; runner-up: Miss M. McCartney, club trophy, Women's handicap championship: Miss M. McCartney, Hunter Cup; runner-up Miss C. Hunter, club trophy. The trophy for the first possible was won by H. Wehipeihana and that for the best loser by Mrs. Aanensen. A compstitive tronhy inlaid with numerous native timbers was presented to the club by Mr. A. S. Wilkinson. Inter-club rostal matches fived during the seasm resulted as foliows: — Ohau 1454, beat Upper Hutt 1437; Ohau 1459, beat 'Nelson 1419; Ohau 1441, beat Wanganui 1438.
