Sheep Perish in Woolshed Fire

NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 7. Betweeii 200 and 300 sheep perished when a fire swept through a woolshed on the Turangi-Taupo Maori development scheme at Terfeahgi Ita, 1^ milep north of Tokaanu, at 7.30 o 'clock .tonight. It was estimated that the lossvof buildings and plant which were totaJly destroyed, "would amount to £2000 and that the value of the sheep would bfe between £700 and £900. The sheep were pla'cecf in the woolshed in rfeadiness fo'r shearing tomorroiv moriiiiig. The shed was uhattehded and when nearby residents arrived they were coiifrbnted by a blazing inferno. They were unable to extrieate any df thfe trapped animals. The loss of tlie building, a comparatively new one with up-to-date plant Will be a Severfe blow to the distriet for it is the only woolshed on the Turafigi-Tanpo sehethb hdihp'rising sev: etfel tBoflsaiid aferes.
