Hemmingsen, accompanied' by her infant daughter, left yesterday to visit her sister at Whakatane. • ^ Mrs. W. Tricker, of Plimmer Terrace, has found it necessary to enter the Palmerston North HoSpital for treatment. Mr. an'd Mrs. Gordon Wood, of New Plymouth, and Mr. Ken Wood, of Wellington, have been recent visitors to Shannon as the g'uests of Mr.* and Mrs. T. Wood, Venn Street. iMrs. E. Retter and her grandson, Peter Hyde, are at present •holidaying. in Carterton as the guests of Mrs. Retter's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M. Waterson. The friends of Mrs. Craig, of Bryce Soreet, will regret to learn that she -was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital by ambulance following a sudden illness- yesterday. Moutoa Ratepayers Meet , , 'A meeting of ratepayers of the Moutoa area is to be held at Foxton next Friday evening to receive the engineers' report in connection with the spillways in the stopbanks of the Manawatu River at Moutoa. Mr. J. Chrystall is the convener of° the' meeting.
