Speaking' at " the staff luncheon of N.Z. Woolpack an'd Textiles Ltd.on Friday evening, Mr. F. W. Vickerman, managing-director of the company, recalled an incident that bccurred a number of years ago which went to show that: Mr. S. G. Holland, Prime Minister-elect, knows his .woolpacks. Mr. Vickerman said that early in November, 1935, he attended the Christchurch Show and had on display there samples o.f the local product. One day a young man approached him and evinced grea't interest in the packs. Sitting on a bale he asked all about the company and its operations and said that he would like to visit Foxton. On leaving he said that he -was Mr. S. G. Holland,- 'the contestant for his father's seat at' the forthcoming election. Some time after Mr. Vickerman was in; Melbourne and there he again met Mr. Holland, then Leader of the National Party, who was in company with Mr. Doidge. Mr. Holland immediately recalle'd the Christchurch meeting . and said that he had not had the opportunity of visiting Foxton up until then, but he still inten^ed to do so. "Sinee then," said Mr. Vickerman, "Mr. Holland has ' visited Foxton and has made himself fully acquainted with the operations of N.Z. . Woolpack and Textiles Ltd., an'd I feel that in him the company and the industryj generally have a friend." \
