Hateley, of Mangaore, . are spending a few days at Foxton Beach. Unfortunately, Mr. Hateley is at present indisposed and confined to hed. Friendly Cricket. A t'eam representing the Shannon Cricket Cluh . journeyed to Foxton over the weekend to play a friendly match against a Foxton team. Weather conditions were quite favourahle and an enjoyable day's cricket resulted in a win for Shannon by 50 runs. „ . Boating Trial. A member of the Manawatu Boating Cluh had his craft on the Manawatu River at Moutoa on Sunday for a practice run prior to competing in the Palmerston North to Foxton boat race, Which will be held over the Christmas holi'day period. It is expected 1 that this year's race will see a number of new craft competing. State Houses Get Paths. Workmen are at present Ibuisily engaged in laying eoncrete paths at the State houses at the intersection of Ballance and Margaret Streets. a The task has already been completed at the Grand Street houses. It is expected that the units' in upper Stout Street will be ready for occupation within the next week or two. Those next toxthe Parish Hall are well advanced, but will not be ready for occupation for some time yet.
