Plunket Raises £102 In Successful Bazaar
The annual Plunket bazaar was held last week to raise funds for the carrying' on of the society's work in Otaki% The president, Mrs. W. Morton, thanked the committee for the work entailed in stocking ths well-laden stalls, and extended thanks to the people who had come along to support the society in its work. " Mrs. G. A. Monk, Coastal Towns' president, was 'then asked to officially open the bazaar, and in doing so said that the committee hoped to raise £100 through the effort, and asked all to be generous in their buying and giving so that the work for the babies and young mothers could be efficientiy carried on without financial worry. Mrs. Monk was handed a beaudful basket of flowers, the work of a cominittee member. The stalls • were soon depleted of their wares and the result of the afternoon's effort was £102. The committee is most grateful 1 to all who sent goods and cash I donations and t'o the mothers who I attended and showed their interI est in the society's affairs. Competitions were won by Colin Maddock, B. O'Brien, N. Smith, R. Kyle, Betty Eaton, Anne Gimblett, I p. Ballinger, .Theresa Murray, V. Sundgren and M. Carter.
