The market Opened up fully firm on Napier, but as the sale progressed, reports from London received early in the sale indicated an easing in the market and this was reflected here. Competition waa keen from Bradford and the Continent with America taking suitable lots. The Offei'ing comprised mainly average. to good top making crossbredfe drawn ■ from Wanganui, Taranaki, Bangitikei and the King Oountry districts, with some outstanding clips interspersed throughout the various catalogues. As is usual in ,tlie North Island, the b.ulk of the offering consisted of fine and mediuin crosibreds with hogget wool in good supply. Owing to it Ueing so early in the season, only a very small quantity of larnbs' wool was ofi'ered at this fixture. The demand for stronger types of waoi was maintained and in some eases coarser grades were realising more than fined lots from tlie same clip. The fine wool rema&ed firm throughout the sale but it was noticeable that there was an easing In prices for mediuin crossbred fleece-wool, bellies and pieees, as the sale progressed. .bradford buyers clominated the market with Continental firnis taking smaller quantities. Owing to tlie favourable winter conditions, the wool was well grown but the general get up was not as good as usual for Wanganui first saies.
