The team mates, Ian Mudge { and Ron Roach, who performed so well in running first and second at Hataitai last week, went even better at the Petone sports on Gaturday. Mudge woh the open short-limit 880 yards event most convincingly, while Roach, running for Horowhenua College, had an easy win in the secondary schools 880 yards event. In the final of the five mile cycle handicao at the same fixture Des. Smith filled third place, off 45 yards, conceding winner and runner-up to competitors off 140 and 135 yards respectively. in the three mile handicap for B grade riders, Otaki's entrants were well to the fore, E. Walsh finishing second, S. Snowdon third and W. Walsh fourth.
